• at one month old, puppy's milk teeth (temporary teeth) are already coming in
• puppy is now nipping and chewing
• begin weaning (process of introducing the puppy gradually to what is going to be his diet as an adult dog, and start of withdrawing the supply of his mother's milk little by little
